Pochin Colliery
Tredegar
1881 - 1964

It is unclear when the actual shafts were sunk, but we are told production at Pochin began in 1881.

Just three years after production commenced, in 1884, a terrible accident took the lives of 14 miners.

The mine hit it's peak in 1910, at which time around 1,700 men were employed there.
